Robert J. Boehlke is chairman of the board of Tessera, a role he took on in May 2011 after serving on the board since 2004. Boehlke also serves on the board of directors for MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. Previously, he served on the board of directors of LTX, Entegris Inc., QuickLogic Corp., DuPont Photomasks, Inc. and Semi-Sematech. During his 17-year tenure with KLA-Tencor Corporation, Boehlke held a variety of management positions including, chief operating officer, executive vice president and chief financial officer, prior to his retirement in 2000. While he was with KLA-Tencor, revenue grew from $17 million in1983 to $1.5 billion in 2000. Prior to joining KLA-Tencor, Boehlke was an investment banking partner at Kidder, Peabody & Company, Inc. He received his master's degree in business administration from Harvard University and earned his bachelor's degree in science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Goodrich is currently the chief executive officer of a start-up business computer system management company in Sunnyvale, California. He has served as a member of Tessera's board of directors since August 2001. Goodrich is a former member of the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he practiced corporate law for 30 years until retiring in January 2002. He presently serves on the board of Trimble Navigation Limited, as well as the boards of several private companies. Goodrich received a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation from New York University.
Nagel was most recently president and chief executive officer of PalmSource, Inc., a leading provider of operating system software platforms for smart mobile devices. Prior to PalmSource, Nagel was chief technology officer at AT&T and president of AT&T Labs. He previously served as senior vice president at Apple Computer, where he led Worldwide R&D for all Macintosh products after heading up Advanced Technology. Before Apple, Nagel had a long career at NASA's Ames Research Center as head of human factors research. He has served on a number of national and international advisory committees, including President Clinton's first President's Information Technology Advisory Committee. Nagel is also a member of the board of directors of Arcsoft, Inc., Epocrates and Leapfrog Technologies, and serves on the boards of trustees of the UCLA Foundation, the International Computer Science Institute at the University of California, Berkeley, and the SETI Institute. He is a member of the advisory board for 3i, Inc., a private equity firm in the U.K., and was recently named to the advisory board of Arcapita, Inc., a private equity company. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering and a doctorate degree in perception and mathematical psychology, all from UCLA.
Tether is currently CEO of The Sequia Group (TSG), a consulting firm that provides program management and strategy development services to government and industry. In 2009, he retired from his role as director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a position he had held since 2001. Prior to TSG, Tether was CEO of Dynamics Technology Inc. and also served as vice president and general manager at Science Applications International Corporation's Advanced Technology Sector. Before this, he was vice president for Technology and Advanced Development at Ford Aerospace Corp. after holding several directorial positions at the Department of Defense from 1978 to 1986. Tether has served on U.S. Army, Navy and Defense Science boards, and on the Office of National Drug Control Policy Research and Development Committee. He has been honored with three medals from the U.S. Central Intelligence and Defense departments, and is a distinguished fellow with the Council on Competitiveness in Washington D.C. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
